Housed in a breathtaking 19th-century landmark in Bloomsbury, Kimpton Fitzroy London blends palatial Gothic-revival architecture with stylish contemporary interiors. Located steps from Russell Square station and the British Museum, it offers legendary service and a lively social hour. However, travelers should note that standard rooms are notoriously compact, reflecting the building's historic layout.

Occupying the 54th to 87th floors of the iconic Jin Mao Tower in Pudong, Grand Hyatt Shanghai is famous for its jaw-dropping views of the Bund and its spectacular, dizzying interior atrium. While guests love the spacious rooms, excellent dining options, and prime financial-district location, the classic property shows its age through dated decor and spotty in-room technology. It remains a memorable choice for those seeking a dramatic high-altitude experience in Shanghai.
